The Hour of Prime: Nativity There was no place for them in the inn, the story says, but they made a place for themselves: Mary, bringing forth life in the way of women; Joseph, her partner who trusted his dreams. The Word emerges where it will, springs forth from the margins, takes its place. Medieval German mystic Meister Eckhart reminds us of how the Word seeks to dwell with us, to take flesh in us: "We are all meant to be mothers of God," he writes. "For God is always needing to be born." From The Advent Hours Jan Richardson © 2002 paper collage, calligraphy, and acrylic on wood 21" x 29" To order this as a print, visit Color Prints.
